Classification of members of 89 Foundation
There are 6 (Six) types of members of the foundation. The classes of these members are as follows:
- Founder member
- General Member
- Life Member
- Executive member
- Donor Member
- Advisory Member
(A) Founder Member:
- I. A founder member shall, until his/her death, remain a foundation member unless he/she resigns his membership by writing under his/her hand addressed to the Executive Committee or a special resolution is passed in the general meeting removing him/her.
- II. The founder members themselves shall, in case of a vacancy in the foundation membership, decide as to how the vacancy shall be filled up, and until any decision is taken, the remaining members shall perform all the functions of the founder members;
- III. Founder members shall pay 5,000 (five thousand) taka at the start of the foundation.
- IV. Founder members may be exempt from monthly/yearly subscription fees.
- V. Founder members shall have voting rights;
(B) General member:
Any Bangladeshi all over the world can be a general member of the foundation if he/she:
- I. Agrees to abide by the Memorandum of Association and Rules & Regulations of the foundation and intends to devote him/her to the welfare service and
- II. If the Executive Committee approves his/her prayer on his/her application in the specific form of the foundation.
- III. The registration fee of the general member will be 2,000 (two thousand) taka.
- IV. The yearly subscription will be 1,200 (twelve hundred) taka or the monthly subscription will be 100 (one hundred) taka. They can be subjected to change by the decision of the Executive Committee.
(C) Life Member:
- I. Those who paid Tk. 20,000 (Twenty Thousand) taka or the amount fixed by the Executive Committee shall be considered as life members subject to approval in the meeting of the Executive Committee.
- II. Life members may be exempt from monthly/yearly subscription fees.
- III. Life members shall have voting rights;
(D) Executive Member:
The number of whom shall be limited to 21 persons and who will be selected/co-opted from among the other categories of members by the Executive Committee.
(E) Donor Member:
All categories of membership must be approved by the Executive committee. After approval of membership by the Executive committee, a member will be allowed to participate in the activities of the organization. All donor members must be included after making the donation to the foundation.
(F) Advisory Member:
Reputed, respected, and well-known people of the society, high-ranking officials, well-wishers, and intellectuals who are determined to improve the foundation through various activities; such people can become members subject to the approval of the executive committee. They will give their opinions and suggestions on various programs of the foundation and can participate in the program.
